Inspection of heat-using machines and equipment
Overview
KEMCO’s Inspection aims at ensuring the safety of heat-using machines & equipment and contributing to the prevention of environmental pollution by reducing carbon emission and by saving energy in pursuit of the national economic development and the protection of property and lives.

Subjects of inspection

Type Name of Equipment to be Inspected Application Scope
Boiler Steel boiler Cast iron boiler The following items shall be excluded:
1. Boiler that is not higher than 0.1㎫ (1kg/ ) in maximum use pressure, not more than 300㎜ in inner diameter and not more than 600㎜ in length
2. Boiler that is not higher than 0.1㎫ (1kg/ ) in maximum use pressure and not more than 5㎡ in heating area
3. Class 2 once-through boiler
4. Boilers generating hot water open to the air
Small hot water boiler Boiler that uses gas over 17㎏/h (232.6㎾ for city gas)
Pressure Vessel Class 1 pressure Vessel Pressure vessel that the value obtained by multiplying its maximum use pressure (㎫) by its internal volume (㎥) exceeds 0.004 and falling under any of the following items:
1. Vessel that receives steam or any other heat media or generates steam to heat solids or liquid, with the internal pressure higher than the air pressure
2. Vessel used for generating steam through chemical reactions in it, with the internal pressure higher than the air pressure
3. Vessel used for heating liquid or generating steam from the liquid to separate the components of the liquid, with the internal pressure higher than the air pressure
4. Vessel with liquid in it and its temperature is higher than the boiling point in the air pressure
Class 2 pressure Vessel Vessel used for containing gases whose maximum use pressure exceeds 0.2㎫ and falling under any of the following items:
1. Those with internal volume of 0.04㎥ or more
2. Those whose inner diameter is at least 200㎜ (in the case of steam headers, those with body whose inner diameter exceeds 300㎜) and length is at least 1,000㎜
Furnace Ferrous metal heating furnace Furnace those rated capacity is more than 0.58㎿
